Ligue 1: Toulouse 0 Bastia 0

Toulouse’s poor form continued as they battled to a 0-0 draw with Bastia in Ligue 1 on Friday.

Alain Casanova’s side have now won just one of their past six league fixtures and were on the back foot against Bastia, who had the better of the chances at Le Stadium.

Anthony Modeste fired the first shot in anger at Ali Ahamada in the opening minute and the bustling striker was almost through moments later after Jerome Rothen’s fine pass.

Toulouse, who have lost just once at home this season, fought back and came close to taking the lead when Moussa Sissoko fell just short of turning in Pavle Ninkov’s rebounded shot.

Sissoko then shot wide from range as did Wissam ben Yedder to leave the home side frustrated.

Modeste proved menacing again at the other end in the second half and was only denied by the outstretched palms of Ahmanda while Franck Tabanou produced Toulouse’s best chance for a winner with a curling shot 10 minutes from full-time.

Toulouse have now slipped well behind leaders Lyon with an eight-point buffer between the sides.

In Coupe de France results, Guingamp advanced to the final round with a 2-1 win over Laval and Nantes beat Saint-Renan 1-0.
