(GSM) – Lille earned a 3-2 win over French champions Olympique Marseille on Saturday to move into second place in the Ligue 1.

Newly crowned champions Marseille started well as Mamadou Niang scored the opener after just six minutes.

Yohan Cabaye equalised from the spot in the 28th but Vitorino Hilton restored Marseille’s lead shortly before the break.

Lille refused to give up however and scored two late goals to turn things around. Tulio de Mele levelled in the 81st and Mathieu Debuchy netted the winner in added time.

Marseille played most of the match a man down, as keeper Steve Mandanda was sent off in the 25th minute for the foul that also caused Lille’s spot kick.

As Auxerre were held to a goalless draw by Lens, Lille are now two points ahead and on course for a spot in the Champions League group phase.
