Liverpool are close to completing a deal to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli this summer, and manager Brendan Rodgers will have a very strong side if they can add the Italian international to the squad.

The Reds were one of the best attacking outfits in the Premier League last season, but lost their top striker in Luis Suarez leaving for Barcelona. If Balotelli could come close to replicating such antics for Liverpool, Rodgers could be celebrating a title win this season.

Bet 365 are giving odds of 11/1 Liverpool to finish top of the pack this season, but they do have stiff competition from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and bookies’ favourites Chelsea.

Liverpool won their first league game of the 2014/15 season, beating Southampton 2/1, and since then they’ve signed talented left-back Alberto Moreno, while coming close to adding Mario Balotelli to the list. Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert can form a devastating attack for now, however.
