Market: Cavani to join Liverpool

Liverpool are continuing their pursuit for a striker this summer, and Paris Saint Germain attacker Edinson Cavani is a target for manager Brendan Rodgers.
The club have so far failed in their task to sign QPR striker Loic Remy, who failed a medical, while Falcao has also been ruled out in recent days.
“There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal,” said the Uruguayan’s agent.
“He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football.”
Betfair are giving odds of 2/1 for Cavani to join the Merseyside outfit this summer to replace Luis Suarez. The 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 30 league games last season, but spent a lot of time operating from a wider position which could well lead him to seek pastures anew.
