Premier League outfits Liverpool and West Ham are hot on the trail of Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel, Daily Express has learned.
The French footballer has seen his stock rise a great deal following some scintillating showings this season, and is now being heavily linked with a big club move.
AS Roma, Napoli and Leicester City had previously shown interest in Defrel, but Liverpool have now emerged as one of his main suitors.
Namely, the Reds plan to offload Daniel Sturridge, who is unhappy at the lack of playing time, and see the Sassuolo hotshot as a very good replacement.
Meanwhile, West Ham have serious problems up front and they believe Defrel could prove an answer to their worries.
Reports from Italy suggest that Sassuolo are holding out for €24 million, as they have recognised the opportunity to make substantial profit on the player they paid just €7 million when he arrived from Cesena in August 2015.
