Liverpool back in for Begovic

Liverpool are ready to make a move for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to the Metro.

The Reds were have been linked with a move for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international one more than one occasion in recent years, and are now ready to reignite their interest.

Current first choice shot-stopper Simon Mignolet has been criticised in some quarters following a string of under-par performances and manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his options.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes is keen for the 27 year old to put pen-to-paper on a new deal at the Britannia Stadium.

Since signing for the Potters in 2010, Begovic has racked up one hundred and sixty-eight appearances for the club in all competitions, and scored a famous goal in a 1-1 draw with Southampton last season.

Liverpool travel to Blackburn Rovers for their FA Cup quarter final on Wednesday evening, and can be backed at 8/13 to win the match inside ninety minutes.
