The Sun is this morning reporting that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would like to sign two more players before the transfer window slams shut.
The new man at Anfield has already signed Joe Allen and Fabio Borini as part of his squad for Liverpool and he isn’t done quite yet.
In terms of the men Rodgers is being linked with, these include Barcelona winger Cristian Tello and Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin as he looks to La Liga for new players.
These are two highly-rated players of course and give an indication of the type of player Rodgers wants – young, hungry and stylish with massive potential.
As mentioned, he has spoken out about his transfer plans, but he has refused to name any names.
The former Swansea man said: “I am hopeful we can bring in one or two more to help the group here.”
“I’ll find out later. We hope in the next couple of days we’ll have one or two coming in.”
Like with securing his transfer targets, Rodgers hopes that he is given patience when it comes to results on the pitch this season.
Liverpool fans expect plenty of success of course, but the new man hopes he is given time to turn things around.
The Reds won the Carling Cup under Kenny Dalglish last season of course, so fans have a taste for silverware.
As far as Rodgers is concerned, he will hope that the players he is bringing in will help take the club to the next level.
