Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez wants to sign Wigan midfielder Antonio Valencia, according to News of the World.
Benitez have wanted the Ecuadorian for some time, but failed in his move for Valencia in the summer.
It is believed Liverpool will make a £10million bid for the 23-year-old when the transfer window opens in January. Benitez will also include winger Jermaine Pennant as a part of a deal.
Reports have also linked Manchester United with a move for the Latics ace in recent months.
