The People is reporting that Liverpool are edging closer to signing Feyenoord midfielder Rodney Kongolo.
The 15-year-old has come through the club’s famous youth academy, but it appears he won’t be signing a professional contract with De Kuip outfit.
Kongolo plans to move abroad once he turns 16 and The People claims Liverpool are ready to pounce.
The Reds hope to take advantage of Feyenoord’s financial problems and believe that an offer in the region of £1.5 million would be enough to lure the player to Anfield.
Liverpool will attempt to sign the player in the summer transfer window and add him to their youth squad, where he would be able to continue his development.
The interesting thing is that the midfielder’s older brother Terence is part of the first team set-up at De Kuip and has already made 6 league appearances for the club.
