Liverpool close on Yacine Brahimi

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola claims that Premier League giants Liverpool are on the verge of signing Algerian midfielder Yacine Brahimi from FC Porto.

The same source claims that the Reds are ready to offer an amount close to the player’s €60 million release clause, and the transfer should be wrapped up in the coming days.

Liverpool have big ambitions ahead of the new season and they have recently completed the deal for German goalkeeper Loris Karius with Mainz, while Joel Matip is also joining from Schalke.

This means that Yacine Brahimi could soon become the third signing of the transfer window for the Reds, and he is certainly expected to quickly develop into a key member of the squad at Anfield.

The 26-year-old has been one of Porto’s star performers ever since he joined the club from Granada and he has so far managed 23 goals and 21 assists in 91 competitive outings for the Dragons.

Fourth signing not second. They already signed Joel Matip, Marko Grujic and Loris Karius.

You are right about Joel Matip, we had forgotten about him. But, Grujic was signed in January and then loaned back to Red Star.
