Liverpool considering Cole move

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Ashley Cole, with the defender looking increasingly likely to be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, the Mirror understands.

The England international, who is due to be out of contract in June, was once again left out of the Blues starting line up yesterday, as they beat Newcastle United 3-0 to return to the top of the Premier League.

His manager Jose Mourinho, who signed Cole in his first spell at the club in controversial circumstances, said last week that the 33 year old does have a future at Stamford Bridge, but having now gone a month without playing, he may well consider his options.

A move to the MLS has been mooted, though Liverpool, who thumped league leaders Arsenal 5-1 to give Chelsea the opportunity to rise to first place, are set to offer him another chance to remain in England.
