Liverpool eyeing Higuain deal

The Daily Star understands that Liverpool are readying a £62m move for Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentina international has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea among those interested in securing his services.

However it is Liverpool who are drawing up a bid for the twenty-eight as they look to strengthen their front line ahead of next season.

Of their current selection of forwards, Roberto Firmino has the most league goals with seven, while Christian Benteke has six, Daneil Sturridge three and Divock Origi and Danny Ings two a piece.

Higuain has been with Napoli since signing from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 and has so far racked up one hundred and forty appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring eighty goals.

He was similarly prolific during his time in Spain and also with River Place, the club where he began his career.
