Liverpool eyeing Lanzini as Coutinho replacement

It appears increasingly likely that Premier League giants Liverpool will lose their star playmaker Philippe Coutinho in January, so it is little surprise that manager Jurgen Klopp is already in the market for a potential replacement. The Brazilian has been ever present in the Reds’ recent success, so it will take a big name signing to fill his boots.

The man that the Merseyside club have lined up is none other than West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini, according to the Mirror. The creative Argentinian has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Hammers, contributing a goal and two assists in 13 league appearances.

Liverpool meanwhile currently occupy fourth spot, but will likely lose Coutinho to Barcelona in the coming weeks. The Brazilian has contributed seven goals and six assists so far in this campaign, so his departure will be a big blow to the club. Whether Lanzini can replace Coutinho’s goal contributions remains to be seen.
