Liverpool eyeing Ochoa move

Liverpool are set to move for Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa after their hopes of signing Fiorentina’s Neto were dashed, according to the Daily Star.

Ochoa, who was one of a number keepers to light up this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, moved to Malaga in the close season but is yet to feature for the La Liga side.

He is now set to consider his future ahead of the January transfer window, and Liverpool are waiting in the wings.

Brazilian Neto was Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers’ first choice, as he looks to bring in competition for Simon Mignolet, but the Brazilian now looks set to put pen to paper on a contract extension with Fiorentina.

Liverpool have kept just two clean sheets in all competitions so far this season, while their against tally of fifty was their greatest of all the sides who finished in the top five last year.
