Liverpool join Pastore race

It seems that Javier Pastore cuts a frustrated figure at French super club PSG, mainly due to his sporadic game time limiting his chances of making it into the Argentina squad for the 2018 World Cup. With that in mind it is little surprise that the player is pushing for a move away from the Parisian club, but his preferred destination is unclear.

Pastore has been heavily linked with a switch to Spanish side Sevilla, but ESPN has reported this week that Premier League giants Liverpool are ready to do battle to secure the midfielder’s signature.

The interest of such high profile clubs will certainly be pleasing for the Argentine, who has seen a steady decline in minutes following the arrival of players like Neymar in Paris.

Liverpool have been fighting off interest for current midfielder Philippe Coutinho, but should the talented Brazilian depart the Merseyside club then Pastore could provide the perfect replacement. The Argentinian international has registered 42 goals and 53 assists in seven seasons at PSG and could certainly flourish if given the opportunity in the Premier League.
