Liverpool join race for Thiago Maia

Premier League high-flyers Liverpool have joined the chase for Santos midfielder Thiago Maia, ESPN Brasil has learned.

The Brazil starlet has seen his stock rise a great deal following some impressive displays for the Selecao at the 2016 Summer Games, and he is now being heavily linked with a big club move.

Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Napoli, Schalke and Zenit are all believed to be keen on his services, with the Russian giants also submitting an €18 million offer for the talented youngster.

However, ESPN Brasil understands that Premier League giants Liverpool have entered the race to sign Thiago Maia from Santos and they could soon come forward with an official proposal.

The 19-year-old has already made 77 league appearances for Santos, scoring 2 goals in the process, while he featured in three games as Brazil lifted the 2016 Summer Olympics trophy, starting two of those matches.
