Liverpool keen on Demba Ba

Daily Mail understands that Liverpool are planning a January swoop for Newcastle striker Demba Ba.

With Luis Suarez the only out-and-out striker in the squad, the Reds are desperate to reinforce the attacking department in the January transfer market.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has vowed to make some early deals and Daily Mail reports that the Reds are already readying bid for Newcastle star Demba Ba.

The Senegalese striker has enjoyed a bright start to the new season, having scored 6 goals in 7 Premier League games, but he is not entirely happy at St James Park.

Ba recently admitted he was unsettled at Newcastle, and he could jump at the opportunity to make a switch to Anfield in the New Year.

The Magpies are doing everything they can to persuade the striker that his future lies at St James Park, but they might have no choice but to cash in on the player who arrived on a free transfer from West Ham in the summer of 2011.
