Premier League outfit Liverpool are hot on the trail of Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio, Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned.
The Reds have been far from happy with the standard of Simon Mignolet’s performances and they aim to recruit a new goalkeeper in the summer who would challenge the Belgian for a starting berth.
According to the latest reports, Liverpool could make a move on Sporting Lisbon hotshot Rui Patricio.
The highly rated shot-stopper has a contract until June 2018 at Estadio Jose Alvalade, and he has so far resisted temptation to leave the Lions for a top European club.
But, having spent his entire career up to date at Sporting, the 27-year-old could be on the move at the end of the current campaign.
Rui Patricio boasts a wealth of experience at the highest level, having earned 36 Portugal caps, while making 58 appearances in European competitions.
