Liverpool locked in battle with PSG for Alisson

The rumours today are swirling around Premier League giants Liverpool, and specifically the goalkeeper position. The Reds were given a firm no personally by Real Madrid shot stopper Keylor Navas, and Jurgen Klopp has already turned his attention to Roma’s Alisson, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Unfortunately for the Merseyside club, Parisian giants PSG have also registered an interest in the Brazilian keeper, who has been in fine form for the Serie A club. Roma have conceded just 17 times this season, making them the third best defensive team in the Italian top flight, and Alisson has been at the heart of that success.

It is little surprise that Liverpool are in the market for a new goalkeeper, especially given how unreliable both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have been over the past couple of seasons. Neither has been able to tie down the starting job permanently, nor prove themselves to be consistent enough to allow the Reds to challenge at the very top.
