Bad news for Liverpool as Martin Skrtel may face a long spell on the sidelines after suffering posterior cruciate ligament damage to his right knee.
Skrtel collapsed in agony after falling awkwardly near the end of Sunday’s 3-2 win at Manhester City and needed oxygen as he was carried from the pitch.
He is to see a specialist tomorrow who will clarify the exact position, but as we all know, Cruciate injuries can be really long term.
This is a major blow to Liverpool who have been looking so solid at the back, but may give Daniel Agger the chance to re-establish his first team claims.
