Liverpool submit €50m bid for Marco Asensio

Spanish media outlets Cadena Cope and AS have moved to reveal that Liverpool had a big money offer rejected for Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio.

The youngster has enjoyed a remarkable debut season at Santiago Bernabeu and he is predicted a bright future in the game.

Following some very good showings in Spain and Europe, top clubs began to cast admiring glances his way and Liverpool were the first to submit an official proposal.

Various media outlets in Spain are reporting that the Reds offered €50 million for the 21-year-old footballer, but their bid was swiftly rejected.

Namely, head coach Zinedine Zidane and the club chiefs believe Asensio is already good enough to perform at the highest level and they have no intention of letting him leave any time soon.

In his first season at Santiago Bernabeu, the attacking midfielder managed 9 goals and 3 assists in 29 matches.
