Liverpool have had a bid accepted for Inter forward Philippe Coutinho, according to BBC Sport.
The Reds had two bids for the Brazilian rejected before the Neroazzurri finally accepted their £8.5 million proposal.
As a result, Coutinho is expected to undergo a medical at Anfield on Monday, although he also needs to be granted a work permit before the transfer can be made official.
Southampton are believed to have offered more money than their Premiership rivals for the highly rated player, but Coutinho’s desire to join the Reds eventually prevailed.
After signing Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea, Liverpool have done really well to reinforce their attack with one of the hottest prospects in world football.
Inter officials were reluctant to cash in on their prized asset, but needed the money in order to fund the purchase of Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.
Coutinho, 20, has scored 1 goal in 10 Serie A appearances for the Neroazzurri this season, but he was in scintillating form during a loan spell at Espanyol last season.
