Liverpool and Tottenham keen on Ashley Cole

Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham are considering a January move on Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole, according to Daily Express.

The experienced defender has found himself surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge this season and with his contract due to expire at the end of the campaign, the England international is looking to leave the Blues in the winter transfer window.

Cole is eager to take part at the 2014 World Cup and he believes that a move away from the club is a must if he is to hold on to regular starting berth in Roy Hodgson’s squad.

Daily Express understands that both Liverpool and Tottenham are set to offer the full-back an escape route from Stamford Bridge.

MLS side New York Red Bulls are also believed to be keen, but it is thought that Ashley Cole would prefer to remain in the English Premier League for the time being.
