Earlier today, The People reported that Liverpool will make a sensational move for Portsmouth’s Niko Kranjcar, and use their striker Peter Crouch as bait to lure the Croatia international to Anfield.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly already offered an £8m fee for Crouch, and now Benitez wants to use his player plus cash to swoop for Kanjcar, 23.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Croatian midfielder that cost Portsmouth only £3.5 million two seasons ago.
Even though Portsmouth will compete in the UEFA Cup competition next season, manager Harry Redknapp has admitted it will be difficult to hang on to their midfielder when you have big clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal come knocking on the door.
