Liverpool would be interested in receiving a player-plus-cash offer from Real Madrid for Luis Suarez, the Daily Star understands.
The proposed deal could see Karim Benzema arrive at Anfield, with the France international likely to fall down the pecking order at the Bernabeu should Suarez move to the La Liga giants.
Benzema started just half of Real’s games in the Spanish top flight last season, though he did manage twenty-one goals in all competitions.
He won league titles in his first four seasons with Lyon in Ligue 1, before securing a move to Madrid in 2009, while internationally he has scored fifteen goals in fifty-eight appearances for Les Bleus.
Arsenal are favourites to secure Suarez’s services, though Liverpool are adamant that their star player will remain at Anfield.
Earlier this week, the North London club saw a bid of £40m plus £1 rejected by the Reds, and they have been given a deadline of next week to meet the players £50m asking price.
