Major newspapers in Italy today suggest that Italian side Juventus have named playmaker Xabi Alonso has thier main transfer target for the summer.

Juventus director Jean-Claude Blanc has supposedly flown to Liverpool to meet the players agents and Liverpool officials. If rumours prove true then Alonso could leave Anfield for around £15 million, however Juventus are believed to be offering under £13 million at the current time.

However it may prove difficult to lure Alonso away from Anfield, and the player is reportedly upset and suprised at rumours of him leaving the club. The Spaniard told skysports.com “At the moment I am with Liverpool, I have a Liverpool contract and I want to be here. I am suprised and dissapointed to read that i want to leave Anfield”.
