Lloris expects to stay at Tottenham; Lovren wants Liverpool move

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed he ‘should’ be at White Hart Lane next season amid reports linking him with a big-money to French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international, who joined Spurs from Olympique Lyonnais for an initial fee of €10 million in August 2012, impressed at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, helping Les Bleus reach the quarter-finals.

If Tottenham were to sell Lloris, Lyon would receive 20% of the transfer profit.

When asked if he should be staying in North London, Lloris told reporters: “Yes, I should be. I don’t want to speak about my situation now.

“I need a few days to recover and after that to relax, have a good rest and come back for next season.

“I think I will speak soon about that and we will deal with it.”

Lloris, 27, started 37 English Premier League matches for Spurs last term, keeping 14 clean sheets. He is under contract at White Hart Lane until 30 June 2016.

Lovren wants Liverpool move

Highly-rated Southampton F.C. defender Dejan Lovren has attempted to force through a move to Liverpool, admitting his head is already on Merseyside after the Reds had a £20 million bid for the player rejected on Friday.

The Saints want a whopping £25 million for the Croatia international, which would put the club £84 million in the green this summer following the sales of Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Luke Shaw (Manchester United) and Rickie Lambert (Liverpool).

According to reports, Arsenal have also shown an interest in Lovren but manager Arsene Wenger would surely not consider a deal for the aforementioned fee, and — it must be said — rightfully so.

“Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven’t informed me, not even about the subsequent Liverpool bids, and that wasn’t right,” Lovren said.

“I found out from other people, which disappointed me, and I realise I’ve got no business staying at Southampton.

“They paid £9m for me so they would’ve earned twice the amount. At this point, I don’t know what I’ll do and I don’t like it.

“Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the last time I played at Anfield I got chills when I heard ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. I would like to listen to it all the time.”

Lovren, formerly of Dinamo Zagreb, debuted for the Saints last term, tallying two goals and one assist in 31 league appearances.
