Tottenham and Chelsea have been alerted by the news that Barcelona want to sell Samuel Eto’o within one week. The player’s future at Camp Nou has been under a cloud with some sources claiming that the player will leave this summer and some saying that there would be no problem if he stayed.
Now, everything has been made clear. According to The Daily Mail, Barcelona’ director of football said:
“The days are going by and the market is closing.
“If there is a decision on Eto’o, the best thing would be for it to be made before the Champions League qualifiers on August 12.
“We’re in the process of looking at how everyone reacts, above all how the manager is with the group and with the player.”
The same report believes that Barcelona would rather deal with Tottenham as they are interested in signing Dimitar Berbatov, but Scolari would be very keen to bring the player to Stamford Bridge and increase his options in attack.
