Germany manager Joachim Löw is set to recall midfielder Torsten Frings for February’s friendly match with Norway. The coach revealed this in an interview with Bild magazine.
Frings hadn’t been invited for recent matches, in order to give younger players a chance to prove their worth to the German national team.
Löw’s decision not to make use of the player’s services was followed by public criticism from both Frings and Germany teammate Ballack. However, both parties made peace at a meeting late last year.
Frings, who currently plays for Werder Bremen, made his national team debut in 2001 and formed part of sides that played the World Cups of 2002 and 2006.
