Lucio flags Bundesliga return

Brazilian defender Lucio has made it clear that he would like to return to German Bundesliga in the summer transfer window.

The 35-year-old left Juventus to join Sao Paulo in January 2013, but it appears he has lived to regret his decision.

Lucio is now looking to return to German Bundesliga, where he has enjoyed the best years of his career playing for Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian is even prepared to take a pay cut to return to Germany, seeing as how he is currently earning around €1.4 million per campaign.

“It’s important for me to play. So money is not important,” Lucio was quoted as saying in Sport Bild.

The 35-year-old was recently offered to Hamburg, but sporting director Oliver Kreuzer rejected the opportunity to sign the highly rated defender as he does not believe he has a lot to offer at the moment.

Werder Bremen are, however, showing interest and they could make a move on the veteran stopper in the upcoming transfer window.
