La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Barcelona are weighing up summer bid for Lazio playmaker Luis Alberto.
The Catalans have been impressed with the performances of their former player this season and they want him to replace Andres Iniesta next summer.
The Spain international is widely expected to leave Camp Nou at the end of the current campaign, heading for either China or the United States.
Luis Alberto has been in scintillating form this term, having managed 10 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old spent one year on loan with Barcelona B few years ago, but eventually signed for Liverpool as the Catalans opted against making the transfer permanent.
