Southampton starlet Luke Shaw has poured cold water on rumours linking him with a big club move in the January window.
The 18-year-old has done brilliantly to cement his place in the starting line-up at St Mary’s, and his impressive displays did not go unnoticed.
A host of England’s top clubs are reportedly weighing up January move for the England Under-21 international, but the youngster says that he has no plans to leave the Saints any time soon.
“I’ve got a contract at Southampton and I’m not even thinking about leaving,” Shaw was quoted as saying in the Metro.
“I am happy at Southampton because I’m playing football, which is exactly what I want to be doing.”
Despite his fragile age, Luke Shaw has already amassed 34 Premier League appearances, and he is considered one of the hottest prospects in England.
The full-back has started nine Premier League fixtures this term, helping Southampton climb to third in the league standings.
The Saints could have problems staying near the top of the standings seeing as how they face Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City in next four fixtures.
