Lyon boss cool on exit talk

Lyon coach Claude Puel reveals he is not worried by the speculations suggesting that he will be sacked at the end of the season.

The former Lille coach has a contract until June 2012, but his position at Lyon will be up for debate following a pretty disappointing season for les Gones.

Puel, nonetheless, says he pays no attention to the speculations.

“I am under contract and I do not even question the fourth year of my contract,” Puel told L’Equipe.

“I have one year left and, honestly, I do not ask questions about my future. My job is to think about the team, find out how we can bounce back and try to improve things, individually and collectively.

”It is also to meet the expectations and ambitions of the club and to catch the teams in front of us in the standings. That is sufficient enough.”

Lyon have been eliminated from the Champions League, while they currently occupy fourth place in Ligue 1 and it is very likely that club president Jean-Michel Aulas will lose his patience with Puel if les Gones fail to lift the league title this season.
