After ending Radek Cerny’s lengthy loan spell from Slavia Prague, Tottenham will look to add a goalkeeper to their squad and Lyon’s veteran Gregory Coupet has been strongly linked with Juande Ramos’ side.
However Olympique Lyonnais has denied that any offer was made for their goalkeeper or that they will discuss any transfer until their season has ended (which will be after their Coupe de France final on Saturday).
Coupet has previously stated that he would like to play in and English speaking league before he retires, according to Setanta Sports, an there may never be another chance for the 35 year old goalkeeper to realize his ambition should he not join Tottenham this season.
Lyon are rumoured to be looking to replace Coupet with Nice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, that too according to Setanta Sports. Lloris, who will turn 22 in December has already made 77 appearances for Nice and has conceded 25 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
