Lyon hotshot in high demand

Europe’s top sides continue to show interest in Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti, Le 10 Sport has suggested.

The 21-year-old is already considered an important member of the Ligue 1 leaders, with some high-profile clubs casting admiring glances his way.

According to Le 10 Sport, the likes of Real Madrid and Marseille are believed to be keen, while Il Corriere dello Sport claims Juventus are in the mix as well.

And while Lyon chiefs would prefer to keep hold of their prized asset for at least a couple more years, they are not in a position to reject a big money bid for his services.

Despite his fragile age, Umtiti has already featured in 91 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 2 goals in the process.

The France Under-21 international, who has a contract until June 2017, is predominantly used as a central defender, but he can successfully operate at left back as well.
