Lyon join race for N’Jie

French giants Lyon have joined the race for Tottenham Hotspur forward Clinton N’Jie, according to French daily newspaper L’Equipe.

Spurs are ready to offload the Cameroon international after he failed to prove his worth in the Premier League, and Marseille recently emerged as favourites for his signature.

OM were close to agreeing a loan deal with an option to buy, but two more Ligue 1 clubs have since joined the chase.

L’Equipe claims that the forward’s former club Lyon are ready to try and bring the 22-year-old back to Parc OL, while Nice are also keen, although their spending power is not that great.

Clinton N’Jie largely impressed in his first full season with les Gones, bagging 7 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances.

He has since struggled for playing time at White Hart Lane and could only make eight substitute appearances in English Premier League last season.
