French club Lyon have signed a partnership with the Chinese Football Association to open up new horizons for the country’s players and coaches.
The agreement will see two under-16 Chinese players integrate with Lyon’s youth side next season, with both players – who will be selected this month – having access to the French club’s facilities.
Furthermore, Lyon hopes to enable Chinese coaches to expand their knowledge by assisting the CFA in developing better coaching programs.
Lyon marked the agreement by launching a competition on their website to allow two Chinese supporters the opportunity to witness the side take on Lille.
Just last month the French side pledged to strengthen ties in the Middle East by announcing the signing of United Arab Emirates international Hamdan Al Kamali.
After experiencing cuts to their available transfer spending, Lyon have placed an emphasis on establishing partnership deals and cultivating youth with the aim of returning to the top of Ligue 1.
