Brazil and Internazionale Milano FC defender Maicon is not leaving the Serie A champions, according to the players’ agent.
The Maicon transfer saga seems to have finally come to an end, with the Nerazzuri defender staying put at the San Siro and disappointing Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid, who were after the 27-year-old.
“Above everything, the wish of the player is to remain at Inter,” said Maicon’s agent Antonio Caliendo to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“(Inter president Massimo) Moratti and coach (Jose) Mourinho are aware they have the strongest full-back in the world.”
“I truly believe that this saga is over.”
Maicon, who had demanded a pay increase from Inter although the club did not give in to the 27-year-old’s demands, is under contract with Inter until June 2013.
