Vyacheslav Malafeev says Russia are nervous ahead of Friday’s Euro 2012 match against Czech Republic.
Dick Advocaat’s men head into the tournament on a high following a 3-0 thrashing of Italy in their last friendly before the competition in Poland and Ukraine.
Russia are the second oldest team at the European Championship, but Malafeev admitted the players are anxious for the tournament to start.
“We are feeling certain nerves. But the older you get, the less it bothers you,” he told Gazeta.ru.
“We are preparing peacefully for the match. We have an experienced team and we take on Czech Republic at full strength.
“We must treat every game as if it is our last.”
After the game against Czech Republic, Russia will take on Poland (June 12) and Greece (June 16).
