Malawi and MTL Wanderers midfielder Joseph Kamwendo is on the verge of signing for Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former Orlando Pirate may join Johan Neeskens’ team as early as Wednesday if all goes well in terms of negotiations between the two parties.

“Sundowns have been monitoring Kamwendo and a deal may happen,” a source told Kickoff.com.

“But we will have to wait until at least Wednesday morning to find out if it goes through but I see no reason why it cannot.”

Kamwendo made his debut for Malawi at the age of 17 and has previously enjoyed a loan spell with Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama, one of several clubs the 25-year-old has played for.
