Man City reportedly readying €400m bid for Leo Messi

Spanish daily newspaper AS has suggested that Manchester City are weighing up a world-record bid for Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

The 30-year-old has a deal until the end of the season at Camp Nou, and even though he is widely expected to sign a contract extension, there has been no official agreement just yet.

According to reports, Manchester City plan to take advantage of the situation and offer mind-blowing €400 million for Messi in January.

The Citizens believe that the Argentine would be happy to get reunited with Pep Guardiola at Etihad Stadium and they seem ready to test Barcelona’s resolve.

Whatever happens, Lionel Messi will go down as arguably the best ever footballer to have called Camp Nou his home, having managed 521 goals and 232 assists in 594 competitive outings for the club.

The highly rated forward will first have to try and help Argentina qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and he is 4/6 to score anytime vs Ecuador.
