Man City’s Stevan Jovetic 19/1 to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season

After bagging a double against Liverpool in last night’s meeting at the Etihad stadium, Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic has boosted his chance of finishing atop of the league’s scorers come May. The former Fiorentina forward has impressed in pre-season, and he’s taken little time to make an impact this campaign.

In 2013/14, Jovetic scored just three goals in an injury-hit season. He’s already bagged two in as many games, and as a result Ladbrokes are giving odds of 19/1 for the City striker to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season.

Manchester City have a very strong attacking lineup, with Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo as their options up front. Manager Manuel Pellegrini has three of the quartet currently firing on all cylinders, so he will have a difficult choice of who to pick in his attack.

However, the Montenegro international is doing all he can to ensure it will be him that is one of the first names on the teamsheet. Jovetic will have a lot of competition for the Premier League Golden Boot this season, however, with Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, Chelsea’s Diego Costa, and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie all vying to top the scoring charts.
