Man United add Wanyama to their midfield shortlist

Premier League giants Manchester United look to be heading towards a midfield crisis come the end of this season, so it is little surprise that manager Jose Mourinho has made finding someone to play in the middle of the park his top priority for the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of top players, with Toni Kroos being perhaps the most intriguing option, but the latest name to appear on their shopping list is that of Tottenham star Victor Wanyama, according to the Sun.

Wanyama is in his second season with Spurs, having joined from Southampton back in 2016, and the Kenyan has become a crucial part of Mauricio Pochettino’s dominant midfield.

The midfielder netted a stunning goal in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool back February, but it is defensively where he has been so impressive, and Wanyama has become one of the best players in the Premier League at shielding the back line.
