Man Utd agree deal for Benfica duo

Portuguese daily newspaper Record has learned that Manchester United have all but agreed to sign Benfica starlets Victor Nilsson Lindelof and Nelson Semedo.

It is widely believed that the deal for the Swedish defender has already been wrapped up, but the Red Devils have now made progress in their pursuit of the Portuguese full-back as well.

Record claims that Semedo could become the most expensive Portuguese player to join a foreign club as the two clubs appear to be in advanced talks at the moment.

Manchester United’s defensive issues have been well documented, and they clearly hope the Benfica duo will improve the quality of the squad.

And while both players lack the experience of playing at the highest level, they have shown incredible consistency and maturity for their age.

It only remains to be seen whether they will be able to deal well with the hefty price tags.
