Man Utd, Everton vying for Dutch goal machine

Dutch daily newspaper De Telegraaf understands that Manchester United and Everton are locked in the battle for AZ Alkmaar hotshot Vincent Janssen.

The 21-year-old, who played second division football last season, has enjoyed a meteoric rise this term, setting the Eredivisie alight in his maiden top flight season.

Janssen currently tops the league goalscoring charts with 20 strikers in 29 outings, while he was also handed a Netherlands debut in March.

After coming on as a late substitute in the 3-2 loss to France, the towering striker started the clash against England at Wembley and scored his first goal for Oranje from the penalty spot.

English Premier League clubs appear to have taken notice of his recent performances, with Manchester United and Everton ready to make their moves in the summer.

Janssen has been especially impressive in the second part of the season, notching 10 goals in last 12 appearances for club and country.
