Man Utd given lifeline in Lewandowski chase

Premier League giants Manchester United remain in the running for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to German newspapers Merkur and Kicker.

While Spanish media claimed Real Madrid had agreed a deal with the Polish footballer, German media outlets have denied those rumours.

Los Blancos chairman Florentino Perez reportedly informed his Bayern Munich counterparts the reports were not true, meaning the race continues.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are another side that have been showing serious interest in the free-scoring forward, who reportedly hopes to leave Allianz Arena in the summer.

Robert Lewandowski, 29, has so far bagged 166 goals in 252 Bundesliga appearances for arch rivals Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
