Man Utd reignite interest in Nico Gaitan

Premier League high-flyers Manchester United remain hot on the trail of Benfica hotshot Nicolas Gaitan, Record has suggested.

The Red Devils may occupy the third place in the Premier League standings, priced at 5/1 to lift the coveted trophy, but their performances have left a lot to be desired.

As a result, Louis van Gaal is widely expected to reinforce his ranks in January, with Nicolas Gaitan one of the first names on his hit-list.

According to Record, Manchester United appear to have rekindled their interest in the Argentine winger, having had their scouts present at yesterday’s Primeira Liga clash between Sporting Braga and Benfica.

Nicolas Gaitan’s big club move seems long overdue as he became one of league’s best players a while back, but his €35 million release clause has proved to be a major issue.

The Argentine has spent last five and a half years at Estadio da Luz, scoring a total of 22 league goals.
