Man Utd reportedly agree deal for Dutch defender

Italian media outlet Il Messaggero is reporting that Manchester United have all but agreed to sign Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij from Lazio.

The Red Devils are eager to further reinforce their back line and the Netherlands international has emerged as their top target.

Il Messaggero now claims that Man Utd have agreed a €35 million deal for De Vrij, who should be moving to Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign.

The 24-year-old has largely impressed since joining Lazio from Feyenoord, although he did miss a large chunk of last season through injury.

When fit, De Vrij is widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading centre-backs and there are no doubts that he would be a great signing for Manchester United.

The Red Devils face Zorya Lugansk in a Europa League fixture later today and they can be backed at 4/11 to claim maximum points.
