There are a number of huge games this midweek as the Premier League takes a backseat. The EFL Cup enters into the latter part of the semi-final stages with both ties are still very much in the balance. Bristol City host Manchester City on Tuesday with both teams well aware that one strong performance could see them in with a chance of winning the first piece of silverware of the season.

Bristol City have been in good form this season in the league and they will be hoping that progression to the EFL Cup final will only see confidence rise. After 28 games, Bristol have 13 wins, while they have drawn nine and lost six times, scoring 40 goals and conceding 32 times. In their last five they have won just once though, drawing once and losing three times which has seen them onto 48 points. Bristol are currently just five points behind Derby in the final promotion spot, meaning they will feel a space in the Premier League is there to be taken.

Manchester City have been outstanding in the current Premier League campaign. After 24 matches they have won 21 times, drawn two and lost one, while they have scored 70 goals and conceded 18 times. In their last five games they have dropped off slightly, winning three, losing once and drawing once, but they are still a massive 12 points ahead of Manchester United in second.
