Competition: Champions League
Market: Man City to win against Monchengladbach
Odds: 23/22 @ 888 Sport

Manchester City travel to face Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night, and the Sky Blues can’t afford anything less than a win after suffering defeat in their opener. They’ll have confidence of coming out on top with how poor Monchengladbach have been this season too.

Manchester City aren’t in the best shape ahead of this week’s European bout. The Premier League giants have suffered three defeats in their last four games in all competitions, and they are suffering from a number of injuries to key players. Manager Manuel Pellegrini enjoyed a bright start to the new season with five consecutive wins, but they’re looking very human of late with so many players out of action.

As for opponents Borussia Monchengladbach, the Bundesliga outfit have had the reverse of City’s season. The German’s started the campaign poorly, but have recently come into some form to threat a surprise result at Borussia Park. Their European campaign didn’t get off to the best of starts, but consecutive league wins sees them with some momentum against a Manchester City side who have continued to let themselves down in the Champions League.

Monchengladbach lost their opening group game against Sevilla on the road, so there’s still a frailty about them in the prestigious European competition. The German side’s hopes could well depend on what Manchester City side they face. If the Premier League giants can welcome back their experienced talent in the spine, Wednesday’s clash could well be one-sided. However, a side resembling anything second-string could make for a competitive evening.
